About FaceReading
Classical Chinese Physiognomy · Online
FaceReading makes classical Chinese face reading — known as Mian Xiang (面相) — accessible to anyone with a photo. We combine traditional physiognomy frameworks with modern image analysis to deliver structured readings grounded in the same texts that practitioners have consulted for over 3,000 years.
Our readings are built on the foundational canon of classical Chinese physiognomy: 《麻衣神相》(Mayi Shenxiang), 《神相全编》(Shenxiang Quanbian), and 《柳庄相法》(Liuzhuang Xiangfa). These texts systematised the Five Officers (五官), Twelve Palaces (十二宫), Three Divisions (三停), and Five Elements face types — the same frameworks that inform every reading on this platform.
The classical principle "相由心生" — the face is born from the heart — acknowledges that character shapes the face over time. Mian Xiang is not a fixed fate but a map: it shows tendencies, strengths, and the periods of life in which fortune is strongest. Used well, it is a tool for self-knowledge.
FaceReading is built and maintained by an independent team. Our readings are intended for cultural exploration and personal reflection. They are not medical, psychological, or financial advice.
